FROM THE MANAGER

Pearland Regional Airport has seen some major changes in these last few years and we are extremely proud of our efforts and the support given by our amazing community.  As we continue to grow and adapt, we are focused on providing meaningful, lasting changes that enhance all business and personal aspects of our day-to-day operations.

I want to remind everyone reading this newsletter, that I want to hear your thoughts, suggestions, and comments! Feedback from our community is a driving force for change and the open door policy at KLVJ is in full effect. You can find me at the FBO during the week, and I encourage you to stop by and share your thoughts with me. I often hear the same questions from many folks, and I want to provide an update on one of the most requested items in recent weeks - Online Payment Options.

I understand that writing, mailing or dropping off a check every month can be a hassle. Busy schedules could benefit from an online payment method in place. I have heard your requests and I am happy to report that Texas Aviation Partners is working diligently to address this issue. We are thoroughly researching and testing online payment options at this time. We previously used Appfolio for payments, but that system was not a viable long-term option. We made the decision to drop that service and search for a new, permanent solution. I hope to report back soon on our findings!

If you have a great idea or a legitimate concern, please take the time to send me and email or come by the FBO and share with us! I may not have a quick answer or solution for every issue, but it is my duty and responsibility to listen to your needs and make necessary changes. 2018 is forecasted to be the best year yet at KLVJ, and you can all do your part to make sure we exceed expectations. This is our home and I want you to know your voices are heard! Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to meeting more of you in the coming months as we discuss ways we can continue to make Pearland Regional into the best GA airport around!

Hurricane Harvey made landfall to our south on Friday, August 25th, and proceeded to devastate the entire Texas Coast. In the following days, Harvey dropped an estimated 33 trillion gallons of water along it's record-breaking path. In Houston, we saw catastrophic flooding like never before, but this unprecedented event gave the entire area the chance to come together and show the world what TEXAS is made of - compassion, teamwork, and understanding.

Pearland Regional Airport's runway never flooded allowing us to stay open and support recovery efforts. Our Line Technicians spent several days (and nights) in the FBO providing fuel and services to emergency responder and supply missions. Stephen and Trevor went above and beyond the normal call of duty so that we could do our part to support the rescue and recovery efforts...even as Trevor's apartment completely flooded! The effort our team gave shows exactly how dedicated and committed they are. I would like to thank them again for everything they have done and continue to do!

We are open for business as usual, and we are ready for the unusual tasks that lay ahead as Houston continues to clean-up and rebuild. We understand that some areas were hit harder than others. I want to reach out to our community and let folks know that we stand together and if there is a way we might be able to assist you, please give the FBO a call! We will do our best to help the recovery process move quickly. Help your neighbor - because we are Texans - and that is what we do. It is just one of the many reasons we are all proud to call KLVJ home!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT

We would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of support during the hurricane. Your help and patience while we worked tirelessly to get things back to normal was greatly appreciated. We were fortunate to have only had minor flooding in a small area.  Our team worked hard to get LVJ back to full operations as quickly as possible to help support Pearland and surrounding communities.  

After the weather subsided, we supported over 50 aircraft for emergency evacuation and supply drop missions.

As we all enjoy the busy summer flying months, I would like to remind everyone about our Fueling Procedures and Regulations. 

Our goal is to adhere to the highest standards for storing and delivering fuel. In addition to our daily fuel checks, which include draining filters, checking for contaminants, samplingand fuel testing, we also have some very straightforward guidelines for delivering safe fuel EVERY TIME! These rues not only apply to full-service fueling, but also self-service. 

Please take a moment to review just a few of our regulations to help us maintain the highest standards:

The following is prohibited while an aircraft is being fueled or defueled:

  • Smoking
  • Operation of a radio transmitter or electrical system

Aircraft fueling and defueling is prohibited in the following scenarios: 

 

    • While aircraft is parked in a hangar
  • When raining
  • During an electrical storm

As a final reminder, hot refueling (fueling of aircraft while the engines are running), shall be permitted only under special circumstances and then only when authorized by Airport Management. 

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to stop by the FBO and ask.  As always, full-service fueling is available during normal business hours, and tenants receive a discount!

Pearland Regional Airport to use $500,000 grant for upgrades

The Pearland Regional Airport is set to launch $500,000 in renovations and upgrades thanks to a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration that will be administered by the Texas Department of Transportation.

The grant will fund safety and security improvements including new entrance gates, signage, striping and lighting designed to increase visibility of runway markings for pilots.

Project costs will be funded through the Clover Acquisition Corp. and TxDot's Aviation Facilities Grant Program.

"The airport is truly a small city now, and this grant will go a long way to ensuring that the airport is set to safely and efficiently continue its robust development," said Stephen Alexander of Texas Aviation Partners, the managing firm of the airport. "The enhancements the airport will receive will help to make sure that aircraft can navigate the airport safely, alongside their four-wheeled counterparts."

The airport, a privately owned airfield open to the public, is home to a variety of tenants and businesses including several flights schools, airplane and helicopter maintenance shops and 20 full-time residents who live in homes or condos connected to private airplane storage facilities.

Built as a private facility in 1940 by the George R. Brown family, the 320-acre airport was transitioned to public use in 1950. Clover Acquisition acquired the property in 1957 and renamed it Clover Field. The airport, which has one 5,000-foot runway that can accommodate up to medium-size aircraft, was renamed Pearland Regional Airport in 2003. Texas Aviation Partners took over management in June 2013.

Two flying clubs, Coastal Skies and the Bar Area Aero Club, are based at the airport. In addition to flying lessons, airplane rentals and air tours for non-pilots interested in sightseeing, the clubs offer group comprehensive insurance and social events for members.

Operations manager Adam Arceneaux said the improvements will provide new security gates at the four airport entrances.

"We also plan to upgrade all the taxiway and runway lights, install additional lights and refurbish the airport beacon tower," he said.

"Our goal is to maintain a safe environment for pilots and make sure we are ahead of the curve in terms of infrastructure."

He said contracts will be awarded for all the proposed upgrades through a competitive bidding process.

The work should start this month or August and take two to three months to complete.

"We're working to manage growth in a smart, measured way," he said. "We want to make data-driven decisions for not just the airport but for the entire community. This grant is the next step for us."

This grant is a huge shot of adrenaline because it helps us step up our game."

Representative Ed Thompson, R-Pearland, said the grant would give the airport the opportunity to increase its economic development impact within the area.

"General aviation is a vital industry to our state's economic growth," he said.

"I'm so pleased that Pearland Regional Airport is being recognized for their contribution and being given the opportunity to expand their impact."

Texas Transportation Commissioner Laura Ryan also praised the airport.

"Providing this funding to the Pearland Regional Airport is key to supporting area aviation," she said. "This is a vibrant facility that plays an important economic role in the local community."

Hurricane season is upon us and it typically lasts from June to November each year. We are all aware of the power, danger, and costs associated with these storms. I want to spend some time offering you a tips to prepare our airport, your home, and your family for a major storm.

In the days leading up to landfall, a great deal of preparation can be made to minimize the impact of the storms. For instance, moving your aircraft inside an adequate hangar and boarding up any windows are great ways to start. Something that often goes overlooked are the large amounts of equipment, cars, tractors, and debris that may be left outdoors. It's recommended that you take the time now to clean up your areas, before your "lawn ornaments" become projectiles that can cause tremendous damage. Securing ALL of your property is the best way to prevent losses and excessive repair costs. 

When a hurricane arrives, the time for preparation is long gone. You need to prepare now, so you are ready at a moment's notice. Here are a few recommended steps from Ready.gov you can take to prepare:

  • Know where to go. If you are ordered to evacuate, know the local hurricane evacuation route(s) to take and have a plan for where you can stay. Contact your local emergency management agency for more information.
  • Put together a disaster supply kit, including a flashlight, batteries, cash, first aid supplies, and copies of your critical information if you need to evacuate
  • If you are not in an area that is advised to evacuate and you decide to stay in your home, plan for adequate supplies in case you lose power and water for several days and you are not able to leave due to flooding or blocked roads.
  • Make a family emergency communication plan.
  • Many communities have text or email alerting systems for emergency notifications.To find out what alerts are available in your area, search the Internet with your town, city, or county name and the word "alerts."

The long, hot days of summer have arrived and will certainly bring dangerously high temperatures. If you are working on your aircraft in the sun, or spending hours inside a hot hangar, make sure you take extra precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses.  We want to remind everyone how important it is to stay hydrated and prevent heat exhaustion and heat stroke. You should be able to recognize the symptoms and determine what steps to take QUICKLY if you find anyone struggling with the heat!

Excessive heat can lead to sunburn, heat cramps, and heat exhaustion - the most common heat-related condition. Signs of heat exhaustion include cool, moist, pale or flushed skin, heavy sweating, headache, nausea, dizziness, weakness, and/or exhaustion.  

Heat stroke, while less common, is life threatening.Symptoms include hot, red skin which may be dry or moist, changes in consciousness, and/or vomiting. If you or someone around you is exhibiting any of these symptoms, please move the person to a cooler location and call 9-1-1 immediately.

The best way to avoid both heat exhaustion and heat stroke is to take frequent breaks and drink plenty of water. You're always welcome to take a break in the FBO, enjoy the AC, and grab a bottle of water.

QUICK TIPS TO BEAT THE HEAT

  • Never leave children or pets in your vehicle. The inside temperature can quickly reach 120 degrees.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids. Avoid drinks with caffeine or alcohol.
  • Wear loose-fitting, lightweight, light-colored clothing. Avoid dark colors because they absorb the sun's rays. Slow down, stay indoors and avoid strenuous exercise during the hottest part of the day.
  • Use a buddy system when working in sweltering hangars. Take frequent breaks if working out on the ramp in the direct sunlight.
  • Work early in the day, or late in the evening to avoid the hottest temperatures.
  • If you need help, or see anyone that does - EVERY SECOND COUNTS! Act quickly and get the help you need.

As always, our first priority is the safety of our pilots, students, and residents. I'm proud of the work we do together and the way we all look out for each other. That is what makes our airport unique and exceptional. Enjoy your summer flying and stay cool!

Springtime is here and that means a return to the skies for many local pilots! As the weather heats up, and the amount of flying increases daily, we would like to remind everyone about the dangers of FOD (foreign object debris), and what we can do to help keep the runway in excellent condition. 

Airport staff perform FOD checks on the runway and taxiways every day. Our goal is to detect and remove any substance, debris, or article which could potentially cause damage. You would be surprised to see what we collect each day. I have seen tow-bars, wildlife, countless screws/bolts/rivets, iPads, trash, and even clothing out on the flight line! We will be collecting all the new FOD we find and showcasing it in the FBO, so you can see how real the threat is.

I want to take a moment and remind everyone that the first and best line of defense against FOD is YOU! A thorough pre-flight inspection, along with regular maintenance, is the best way to catch any loose ends before they (literally!) fall off. Securing your iPad, GPS, or other personal items inside the aircraft is another key way to prevent FOD. I have seen items left on the wing during pre-flight more than a few times, and when they hit the pavement, they end up not only breaking the item, but also creating an unsafe operating area for other pilots. 

If you see something on the concrete, please do us all a favor - pick it up and dispose of it properly! That trash blowing across the ramp could end up in someone's engine! If you're unable to safely pick up FOD, please call the FBO so we can handle it immediately.  When we work together to make the airport safer, we all win. 

We also have a lost and found box in the FBO. If you think you may have left something behind, please stop by and check in with us!

FROM THE MANAGER

I want to start by saying Thank You to all our local pilots and instructors. Pearland Regional Airport is growing and even though activity is up, runway incursions are down! As summer approaches and activity increases, now is the perfect time to remind everyone about our Airport Rules and Regulations.

The guidelines cover everything from using the radio and taxiing speeds to outside storage of equipment and abandoned aircraft. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with these regulations as they apply to all of us and with your help, we can ensure clean, safe, and responsible operations at KLVJ.

Over the coming months, we'll highlight sections of the Rules and Regulations document in our newsletters. On Monday, January 16th, after months of anticipation, we were finally able to distribute keys to our T-hangar tenants. We were so excited for the tenants who had been eager to move in for weeks and grateful for their patience.  

Passing out the welcome bags and watching folks move in their gear and aircraft was a sight to behold. These 23 new hangars are just the beginning of exciting things to come at KLVJ. We are thankful and excited for each of you that helped make this project possible.

GET TO KNOW TREVOR ESPERSEN

Trevor Espersen joined the KLVJ team in September of 2016. Originally from Winnipeg, Canada, Trevor brings a wealth of knowledge to our team.  He was a supervisor at the busiest FBO in North America at Winnipeg International Airport (CYWG).  There, he managed a team of 8, pumping nearly 1 million gallons of jet fuel a month.

Trevor enjoys the community atmosphere of KLVJ and being an integral part of the team.  He does it all - from fuel sales to airfield repairs, every day is different. His favorite part of the job is doing FOD checks because he never knows what he will stumble upon. His favorite finds thus far have been deer skulls, bats, nets, balloons, even a bag of ducks. Stop by for a cup of coffee and Trevor will share with you some of his strangest findings. 

In his spare time, Trevor likes to relax and play computer games. However, when boredom creeps in, Trevor likes to challenge himself by learning something new such as programming languages, building foam props from scratch, or even auto mechanics.  He is currently in search of a violin teacher.  Since relocating to Houston, Trevor has been to NASA twice, fueling his love of space. The next time you're at KLVJ say hi to Trevor- chances are you'll learn something new!

Pearland Regional Airport Releases Units Of Pre-Leased T-Hangars

The 1.5 MIL construction of T-Hangars at Pearland Airport has been completed with bi-fold doors, 120-v outlets, and space for supplies.

After months of anticipation, tenants who pre-leased a T-hangar at Pearland Regional Airport were excited to pick up the keys to their units on Monday.

"It's been a lot of fun showing these pilots to their brand new hangars," said operations manager Adam Arceneaux. "It's like Christmas morning around here."

Construction of the $1.5 million 23 unit T-hangar project is part of a multi-phase development plan put together by Texas Aviation Partners (airport management) and Clover Acquisition Corporation (airport owner).

Stephen Alexander with Texas Aviation Partners thinks the few remaining unleased units will go quickly.

“We listened to what the public needs and wants here” said Alexander. “With the construction of these T-hangars, we are looking to help alleviate the squeeze on general aviation pilots in the area.”

The T-hangars include electric bi-fold doors, 120-v outlets, plenty of space for supplies, and are in close proximity to the runway. They are expected to bring growth and development not only to the airport, but also to the surrounding area, as many of the alternative airport options do not have adequate hangar availability.

TEXAS SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY VISIT

On December 2, 2016 Pearland Regional Airport hosted 13 Aviation Management students from Texas Southern University. The purpose of the visit was to learn about General Aviation Management which included flight line services, airport development, customer service, operations management, and fueling. 
 

It was an honor to host the next generation of aviation managers. We hope to see some students in 2017 for possible internships, where they can further their education and get hands-on training.

T-HANGAR UPDATE

We are excited to announce that tenants of reserved T-hangars will be moving in Monday, January 16! A full crew is currently on site wrapping up the unit-by-unit final inspections and repair list to ensure each unit is perfect for move-in day.

COURTESY CAR

We're excited to announce we'll be adding a courtesy car to our fleet this month. It will be available to pilots flying into KLVJ for everything from a quick trip to La Casita or a business meeting in downtown Houston.

We are always looking for ways to better serve our customers and a courstesy car is part of the plan. 

GET TO KNOW STEPHEN PATCHEN

 

What were you doing before joining the KLVJ Team? I was an Airborne Cavalry Scout in the US Army for 3.5 years. I enjoyed every minute of it, but family comes first. So in May 2013, when my contract was up, I came home and began attending school here in Houston. 

When did you start working for KLVJ? I heard about Pearland Regional Airport's re-opening through friends, met with some members of Texas Aviation Partners and really liked everything I was hearing. In May 2014, I began working as a line technician. It's been almost 2.5 years and I couldn't think of a better group of people to work with.

What do you do for KLVJ now? I make sure that a smile is on every customer's face when they leave the airport - no matter their destination. We're a small team so I help with everything from cleaning, baking, reservations, fuel quality tests, and maintenance.  

What is your favorite part of the job? I enjoy that every day is different. I can arrive at the airport in the morning not knowing exactly what types of obstacles we will tackle, but knowing that we will as a team. It is not a "conveyor-belt" job. Each customer needs something different and in the end, I can help them get where they need to be.

What do you like to do in your spare time? I mostly stay at home, reading books, cooking, or spending time with my two year old English Pointer pup. 

Share something about your personal life...  Years ago, I used to live on a sailboat.

Roadway vs. Taxiway vs. Runway - Navigating KLVJ from the ground    

I can remember the first time I pulled into the main gate at KLVJ. I stopped my car and literally got out and started scratching my head. "Am I on a taxiway? Where is the FBO? Uh-oh... there's a spinning prop heading this way!?!" I immediately thought, "Well, this isn't what I'm used to!"  I asked for some help and was kindly pointed in the right direction. It took some getting used to, but I eventually felt like I had things figured out. My head did spin a bit, when I saw two ATVs and a bicycle zip across the runway. In my military and GA experience, that was not something I had ever seen before. KLVJ is the first airport I've worked at that did not have a control tower expertly directing traffic and protecting the runway from incursions. I was also concerned with the "I have been crossing this runway for years" attitude I got from some of the people I spoke with.

I understand that KLVJ is home to many of you, and most of you have been here long before me, but I hope to help change the culture of KLVJ for the better, and Runway Incursions are a priority for me. The ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) defines a runway incursion as "Any occurrence at an aerodrome involving the incorrect presence of an aircraft, vehicle, or person on the protected area of a surface designated for the landing and take-off of aircraft." I have spoken with many individuals over the last two years and asked them to please take a few extra moments to exit via the front gate, and re-enter from one of our 3 other access points on the other side of the runway. 90% of folks I have spoken with are happy to comply. The other 10% seem to look over their shoulder and see if anyone is looking, and then scoot across as fast as possible.

It is my intention to ask everyone to be vigilant and assist our staff with protecting the aircraft using the runway. If you see someone crossing, or attempting to cross the runway, say something. Together we can ensure that every aircraft has a safe place to take-off and land. If you are towing an aircraft, or have a direct need to cross the runway without any alternative, we require two simple things - Radio Contact with pilots in the pattern and a visible beacon light of some kind on your vehicle. You can find an inexpensive flashing rooftop light at any auto parts store and  if you need to borrow a handheld radio, we have 2 at the FBO that we are happy to lend. We are also more than happy to escort anyone across the runway using our approved vehicles. My goal is to have 100% communication and safety anytime you are required to cross the runway. The runway is exclusively for aircraft to take off and land, and we can all do our small part to ensure it remains a safe and protected space. DRAINAGE DEVELOPMENT UPDATE

Last week's rain has slowed the timeline of our drainage development, but is expected to be back on track the week of December 5th.  

 Weather permitting, the cutting of the the taxiway (see image below) is scheduled for Tuesday, December 6th and is scheduled to be completed that same day.  Steel plates will be provided if a vehicle or aircraft needs to cross.

T-HANGAR DEVELOPMENT

We're putting the finishing touches on the new T-Hangars.  They will feature electric doors, 120v outlets and plenty of space for supplies.  Not only that but all of the drywall has been treated with a mold preventative paint and are sealed & protected.

NEW EQUIPMENT COMING SOON

We are always looking for the best ways to serve our pilots and passengers. We have identified a few items that will help us reach our goals. In the coming weeks, we will be adding new equipment to our fleet, to better serve YOU!  As most of you now know, our Crew Car died a few weeks back and we have been working hard to find a replacement vehicle. I am happy to say that we will have a new crew car at KLVJ in the coming weeks! A solid crew car really makes a difference to many of our customers and we are very excited to get one in service. Thank you to everyone that has been patient while we searched for the perfect solution.

We are also adding a new Ground Power Unit. Our new GPU will allow us to power aircraft and avionics systems without starting their engines. We will be able to power air conditioning systems, and provide a key service that many of our Tenants need. A new GPU also makes it easier for us to serve transient pilots which are crucial to our success. We want to provide every possible service at the highest levels, and a new Ground Power Unit helps us reach that goal.

If there is something that you need that we do not offer let us know.  We are constantly re-evaluating and refining our offerings to meet your needs.

GET TO KNOW ADAM ARCENEAUX

What were you doing before joining the KLVJ Team? Before working at KLVJ, I was with Redbird Flight Simulations. I began as the Line Service Manager at Redbird Skyport in San Marcos (KHYI) and continued on to the Simulator Sales and Demo Team, and later became the Flight School Admissions Advisor. Before Redbird, I worked at Georgetown Municipal Airport (KGTU)  as a Line Tech, Operations Manager and General Manager of the Georgetown Jet Center. Before I started my GA career, I was a Crew Chief on the F-16 Fighter Jets for the US Air Force.

When did you start working for KLVJ? My first day at KLVJ was April 1st , 2015. In 19 months, we have accomplished so many things. The time sure does fly when you're having FUN!

What do you do for KLVJ now? As the Pearland Airport Manager, and FBO Manager, I wear many hats. As an NATA Certified Trainer, I am responsible for all initial and recurrent training for our staff. My Fuel Safety Supervisor training helps ensure clean fuel every day. Customer Service is the meat and potatoes of what we do, but I am not afraid to wear my landscaping or custodian hats as well. With a total staff of 3 outstanding guys, we are all tasked with many responsibilities. From repairing Runway lights, to hosting pilot seminars and Project Managing new developments, there is no job too big or small.

What is your favorite part of the job? No two days are ever the same. Our approach to excellent customer service never changes, but we find ourselves with many diverse opportunities to provide that level of care. We have seen the smallest of homebuilt aircraft parked next to a Phenom on our ramp. The ability to meet pilots from all over the world and help them along their journey is exciting and rewarding. I can't imagine doing anything else!

What do you like to do in your spare time? I am a bit of a weekend warrior, and I'm always up for an adventure! We will travel to many music festivals around the country and love to go camping, hiking, snowboarding, and swimming. I make the best burger you have ever had in your life! Cooking is one of my favorite things to do anytime, anywhere! I spend as much time as I can with family and good friends, laughing and goofing off. If it's fun, challenging, exciting and maybe a little crazy...I'm usually the first in line!

Share something about your personal life... I could not be happier or more in love than I am today! Erin is my heart and soul and our puppy Clara is the cutest thing you've ever seen. I have made so many friends here in Pearland and feel like KLVJ is my second home. Moving across the state and taking on a challenge of this magnitude was one of the best, and most rewarding decisions I have made. I am excited for what the future holds at Pearland Regional Airport!

HANGAR BREAK-INS

It has come to our attention reports of several aircraft and hangar break-ins at area airports.  Thieves have broken into several aircraft and hangars and have been steeling tools and avionics out of unlocked aircraft. The string of burglaries have occurred multiple times over the past few weeks at Hooks, Conroe, Sugarland and West Houston airports. 

It's possible that the thieves are flying in a night and looking for unlocked aircraft and hangars.  Please take extra precautions and be vigilant about locking your aircraft and hangar doors.  Report any suspicious activity by calling 911.

Upgrades coming for Pearland Regional Airport

PEARLAND, Texas - The Pearland Regional Airport is about to undergo some big changes, including millions of dollars in upgrades.

Stephen Alexander is managing the makeover, and it is set to start by the end of the year.

"As Hobby and Ellington and Bush all continue to get busier and busier and busier, you're trying to fit a larger quantity of airplanes in and out of finite airspace, runways and taxis," Alexander said.

Alexander said the Pearland Airport is a private airport with 300 takeoffs and landings each day. There are 150 hangars now that are all spoken for.

The project will level much of what is already in place and usher in dozens of new state of the art hangars and more space for small jet aircraft.

"Later phases of construction include a new terminal building for the airport for visitors, rental cars, vehicle parking," Alexander said.

KPRC 2 was told the project will infuse more money into the local economy and create another option for private air travelers trying to reach and point in the Houston area.

"Airspace is finite, and airspace can be thought of as our highway system," Alexander said. "Just as Houston has continued to work through its growth with road construction over the years, we have to think the same way with aviation as well."

Pearland Regional Airport (KLVJ) held its first Open House Saturday (May 9) at the airfield, located at 17420 Airfield Ln.

Over 400 pilots and families enjoyed barbecue provided by Central Texas, kids’ activities and some fantastic prizes donated by Air Professionals, Texan Flight, Bay Area Aero Club, Coastal Skies, Friends Uncorked and Best Shot Range.

The Texan Flight team displayed their T-6, which is home based at KLVJ, on the ramp for the community to enjoy.

Members of the Commemorative Air Force Houston Wing flew in to display their aircraft and showed interested visitors the cockpits and answered questions.

Texas Aviation Partners, the airport management company, and their development partner, Western, LLC, unveiled Phase 1 of their airport development plan. The plan includes T-hangars, condo hangars, and a community hangar, which was used for the meal service at the Open House.

Attendees of note included Ralph Royce, who is the Air Boss at Wings Over Houston, and new Lone Star Flight Museum Chair Scott Rozell.

“We are so thrilled by the turnout,” said Cassidy Berenato with Texas Aviation Partners. “The community has really been supportive.”
